  Hello Visitor,

British Science week 2024 is being held from March 8th – 17th

As part of the event a national poster competition has been organised. We would love you to encourage your children to enter. The theme this year is ‘Time’

Ideas include creating a poster showing how a type of technology has changed over time. You could go futuristic and show how the world might look in years to come. Nature is full of lively topics too. You might look at how animals and plants have evolved over a long period of time. Lifecycles are all about how living things grow and die during their time on our own planet Earth. The passing of time prompted the innovation of ways to mark it, from the sundial to the pendulum clock to digital clocks - where would we be without them? Or think of your own idea!

Please send your entries to school by Wednesday March 6th on a piece of A4 or A3 paper to include child’s name and class. As a school we can submit 5 entries to be judged by the British Science Association. They are looking for creativity, content and effective communication! Mrs Toyer and Mrs Clarke will select the 5 posters to submit to the BSA.

Also, are there any parents (or others) who have jobs in a field related to science who would be willing to come into school and talk about what their job involves? (Either to Key stage one in an assembly or to individual classes, which ever appeals. It would need to be age appropriate! If so please contact Mrs Clarke via the office. Thank you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Clarke
