Year 2 have settled well into their new year group. Our first topic was Starry Night. During this topic, we learnt about owls. Dave from Raptor Xotics visited with his birds of prey. The children thoroughly enjoyed this, particularly when the owls flew over their heads. This visit was very educational and lead to some excellent writing from the children. Also this half term, the children learnt about Harvest and had the opportunity to write a set of instructions on how to make an apple crumble. They were then allowed to measure the ingredients and make the crumble themselves before later selling to parents. In Art, children have been learning about Arcimboldo and Van Gogh. The children used fruit and vegetables to create art and then during messy day recreated the famous Starry Night painting by Van Gogh.
